When it comes to acupuncture, Carol Soborowski really has a gift. I became chronically ill after a virus in 2008. My condition is now known as post viral syndrome. At the time, my diagnoses were confusing and seemed unrelated to one another. I had been sick just over a year, unable to work, in near constant pain and having a fever when I met Carol in August of 2010. I thought acupuncture was a long shot, but Carol's expert ability to assess me, her gentle and precise placement of the needles, had me getting up and doing more after just one treatment. In the fall of 2021, I was diagnosed with stage zero breast cancer. My treatment included the use of Tamoxifen for five years. Two side effects that impacted me immediately were night sweats and sleep disruption. I was lucky to get three hours a night. While over-the-counter medicine helped, I could not take it for five years, and I did not want to treat the side effects of one prescription with another. My oncology nurse mentioned other patients had luck with acupuncture so I gave it a try.
I found Carol through a Google search. After speaking by phone and completing a thorough health survey online, we met and discussed my health, lifestyle, and diet. I found her to be a good and active listener, compassionate, and very knowledgeable. I had not had acupuncture before but Carol was reassuring in her explanation of the process. After one session, my night sweats were gone. After about a month, I was regularly getting a minimum of six hours of sleep a night. I am grateful to Carol for her help and expertise.
